Okay so a few weeks ago I found these very soft, cotton-like things wedged in my grandparent’s window frame. I kept thinking it was moth eggs or something, but I’m really not sure now
At first I thought they were wind-blown seeds of some sort, because there were little hard things the size of a small pea within the fluffy stuff. I cut one open and it was somewhat fluid, so I threw it in a jar and left it for a while. Found some more the other week and tossed them in too. Just today I saw this little guy crawl out of a hole in one of the “seeds” (egg sac? cocoon??). I keep expecting more to come out but it seems to be just the one. It can’t be more than two mm long, the thing it just tiny
I’ve been scrounging the net for into about these but I can’t find squat with both the cotton stuff and the little worm/caterpillar. Anyone know what this could be?? I live on the West coast and it was found in a very foresty area
