Jumping Spider with Pollen

Essential to the sexual reproduction of plants are bugs. Sticky grains of pollen, which are the male reproductive part of a plant, must be transferred the stigma, in order to fertilise the ova, the female gamete. Bugs inadvertently do this when they visit flowers for nectar, or in this case, to ambush prey. (Nick Hobgood on Flickr)
