cybermat-herder

I know I just reblogged this this morning, but hey, I don’t think anybody’s gonna complain about adorable parrots, and in the comments I noticed that people were confused and worried over something and if I can at least educate my followers on this, then I would have done my job.

People seem worried about the parrot being hit on on the left since he is sort of bobbing his head up and down really quick like a seizure or something. The parrot on the left is a Quaker Parrot, so named because, well, they quake. When they’re babbies they’ll bob their head and wings like that when begging the parents for foods and many continue to bob their head during their younger years.

Like a lot of excited behaviours in birds that are often first seen when they’re babbies being fed, it typically means they’re excited and happy. And maybe a little hungry. So it’s nothing to worry about; it’s one of the Quaker’s most unique and endearing traits that it became its namesake. :>
