I’m seeing lots of trick-or-treating/Halloween posts going around and it reminds me of something
I wasn’t allowed to go trick-or-treating past 11 or so and I was super bummed out. My mom made my sister and I costumes year after year (plus this one Power Rangers one I got and loved to heck when I was super little). Only when we were about… 18? 19 maybe? We were at a Halloween party with a bunch of friends who were all dressed up and we all went trick-or-treating and it was probably the most memorable Halloween I’ve ever had. By the end we were singing Christmas carols and exclaiming “happy birthday!” whenever someone opened the door, it was a blast and I would love to do it again but at this point I think it’d be a bit odd with me (and most of the mentioned friend group) being 22 and all
And good god the candy bartering at the end was so much better than just having myself and my sister trading things. I got a gummy gecko
